Available Medical Services
All of the providers at His Hands are volunteer licensed professionals.
Medical Care: If you need to see a specialist, we may be able to provide you with a referral. There is no charge for a visit to our clinic but donations for our services are always welcome.
Physical Therapy: Our physical therapy clinic is on Wednesdays. In order to be seen by physical therapy, you will first need to be seen by one of our medical providers and then be referred.
Women’s Health: Our physicians provide pap smears and breast exams. Mammograms are referred out to local hospitals and the costs are most often fully covered. If a lab or x-ray is ordered, Mercy Medical Center and UnityPoint will assess your ability to pay for services.
Mental Health: Anxiety and depression screenings offered. No controlled substances provided or prescribed.
Dental Care: Our dental clinic is open by appointment only. Please call to schedule an appointment.
Chiropractic Care: Basic chiropractic services are offered by appointment when avaialable.
Specialty services: If our provider wants you to see a specialist we will assist you in getting connected with the programs that provide specialty services.
A visit to the free clinic shouldn’t cost anything. If a lab or x-ray is ordered, the local hospitals (Unity Point – St. Luke’s or Mercy) will cover the cost of that test. If a medication is prescribed and you cannot afford the cost, His Hands will cover one month of that medication.
Durable Medical Equipment: His Hands receives gently used medical equipment from all over the community: hospitals, doctor’s offices, and community members. If you need equipment, please call and see if we have what you need. If you have medical equipment that you would like to donate, please call the clinic.
